Skagit County DUI Attorney: Burlington woman hits can then thrown in the can for DUI

On Sunday October 31, an Anacortes police officer stopped a car driven by a 25-year-old Burlington woman in the 1100 block of 34th Street after the woman's car hit a garbage can and then almost hit the officer's car that had been parked on the side of the road.  The woman smelled strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech and watery eyes, and commented that she had "wondered what the noise was" when informed she had knocked over a garbage can.  The woman admitted to having "a couple of beers" and that she was "a little drunk."  She failed field sobriety tests, was placed under arrest, and taken to the police station where she said she had been drinking beer, whiskey, and smoking marijuana.  She provided breath samples that were approximately twice the legal limit.  She was then placed in a holding cell where she screamed profanities at officers, spit on the glass window, and exposed herself while yelling derogatory names.  She was booked into jail for DUI.
