SEATTLE - A woman driving a pickup truck plowed into a crowd of people that were leaving a nightclub concert Thursday night in Seattle's Sodo neighborhood. Police said the driver appeared to be impaired by alcohol or drugs and was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault.
The four women and one man were crossing First Ave. S. after a show let out at the Showbox Sodo just before 11 p.m. The pickup was traveling southbound when it hit them at the intersection with S. Massachusetts St.
All five pedestrians were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. One woman sustained life-threatening injuries. Police expect the others to recover from their injuries. Neither the driver or her two passengers were hurt in the incident.
