Skagit County DUI Attorney: DUI driver falls pray to Anacortes speed trap (Oakes Avenue)

On October 30th in Anacortes, Skagit County a 46-year-old Anacortes man was arrested on a charge of DUI after an officer stopped him for speeding on Oakes Avenue around 2:26 a.m. The driver had difficulty opening his glove box to look for the requested vehicle documents and then handed the officer an entire stack of papers from inside. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and provided breath samples that were significantly over the legal limit. He was cited for DUI. 

Comment:  Typical Anacortes DUI.  Speeding on Oakes Avenue (yes, speed trap), trouble opening glove box (not an indicator of DUI of course), and poor performance on field sobriety tests (ever see the conditions for FSTs on Oakes Avenue?).  Without reading the report it's fairly easy to guess who the arresting officer is…
