Skagit County DUI Attorney: Anacortes DUI driver hits can then thrown in the can

On Halloween evening, October 31st in Anacortes, Skagit County, an Anacortes police officer stopped a car driven by a 25-year-old Burlington woman in the 1100 block of 34th Street after her car hit a garbage can and then almost hit the officer's car parked on the side of the road around 2:05 a.m. She smelled strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech and allegedly commented she "wondered what the noise was" when told she knocked over a garbage can. She allegedly admitted she was "a little drunk." She failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on a charge of DUI. She provided breath samples approximately twice the legal limit. She was placed in a holding cell where she reportedly screamed profanities at officers, spit on the glass window and exposed herself while yelling derogatory names. She was booked into jail.

Comment:  This case looks horrible however, all DUI cases look horrible and the majority of cases do not end up as DUIs.  This case may not look as bad as it first appears (although it does look pretty bad to begin with).
