Five people were injured early Saturday after a head-on crash on Highway 16 west of the Nalley Valley Viaduct.
The Washington State Patrol reports that a 1997 BMW 540 was reported going eastbound on the westbound Tacoma Narrows Bridge around 1:30 a.m. Soon after the vehicle was reported, it crashed head-on into a 2007 Toyota RAV4 that was in the left, westbound lane, just west of the viaduct. WSP investigators determined that the driver of the BMW was impaired at the time of the crash. He is facing DUI and vehicular assault charges.
