Washington DOL requires SR-22 insurance and Ignition Interlock installation before they will issue IIL

By Riley S. Lovejoy, Attorney at law.

If you have been charged with a DUI and are attempting to get an Ignition Interlock License (IIL) from the Department of Licensing (DOL), it is required that you first obtain SR-22 insurance, and have the Ignition Interlock Device installed BEFORE you apply for the IIL.  Otherwise, the DOL will deny your IIL application, and you’ll lose the $100 application fee.
