Snohomish County law enforcement took 22 impaired drivers out from behind the wheel Oct. 30 during the Surround the Sound patrols. "That is 22 too many," said Tracy McMillan, manager of the Snohomish County DUI & Target Zero Task Force. "We would prefer drivers find a safer way home than driving themselves when impaired." During the eight-hour emphasis, patrols contacted 325 drivers. Removing the 22 impaired drivers means that approximately one out of every 15 drivers may be impaired and arrested. Snohomish County Sheriff deputies, Washington State Patrol and other agencies including Lynnwood Police participated.
