On the 5th day of last month, Mount Vernon Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 700 block of North LaVenture Road. They found a Chevy Tahoe had driven off the road, into a yard, over a tree and caused damage to a house. Fire personnel located a subject in a nearby backyard. The suspected driver, a 26-year-old Mount Vernon man, was arrested for DUI, criminal trespass in the second and hit and run. He later received an additional charge of assault in the third after assaulting the arresting officer while at the emergency room. The Mount Vernon DUI was to processed at Mount Vernon Municipal Court in Skagit County.
