On March 7th A 29-year-old Anacortes, Skagit County man was arrested on a charge of DUI after an officer saw him park an SUV in the 900 block of 21st Street and then stagger out of it around 1:25 a.m. The man reportedly smelled strongly of intoxicants and had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. He allegedly told the officer he had four or five tall beers and he knew he had “too much to drive.” He failed field sobriety tests and provided breath samples slightly over twice the legal limit. He was cited and released to a sober friend.
