Bothell Kirkland King County DUI Drunk Driving Lawyer: DUI Questions / Answers

Bothell Kirkland King County DUI Drunk Driving Lawyer: DUI Questions / Answers

Question: What is the difference between a DUI and DWI?
Question Detail: I was pulled over and arrested last night because I was driving after a few drinks. I am not certain if I got a DUI or DWI, but I remember the officer kept on talking about both. What is the difference and which is easier to fight in court?

There is no difference between DUI and DWI.  It really depends on the State the charge is in.  DUI stands for “driving under the influence” while DWI stands for “driving while impaired (intoxicated).”
