On July 23, a 21-year-old Anacortes man was hospitalized after the 1972 Chevrolet truck he was driving left the roadway in the 900 block of 29th Street and struck a house around 2:40 a.m. Witnesses said the man was traveling at a high speed and appeared to be chasing another vehicle when the crash occurred. Police obtained a blood sample at the hospital and are investigating the incident as a DUI.
