Bothell King County DUI Attorney:  Man Leads Police On 30 Mile High-Speed Chase

BOTHELL, Wash. -- A 29-year-old Bothell man led police on a chase through Snohomish and King Counties early Wednesday, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The pursuit started just after midnight on Interstate 5 in Snohomish County, WSP spokesman Keith Leary said.

A trooper observed the man driving "in a manner that appeared to be that of an impaired driver," said Leary.

When the trooper attempted to stop the driver, the driver sped up and tried to elude police on southbound I-5 in Lynnwood.

The driver then went south on Interstate 405 to State Route 520 in King County. He then went north on I-405 where he was stopped by troopers using a PIT maneuver and spike strips near Northeast 195th Street in Bothell, Leary said.

His speeds were upwards of 100 miles per hour, and the pursuit lasted about 30 miles, said Leary.

The driver was taken into custody without incident.
