On June 19th a 26-year-old Woodinville man was arrested on a charge of DUI after an Anacortes police officer stopped him for talking on his cell phone, speeding and other violations around 1:38 a.m. The car reportedly pulled from the curb in the 300 block of Commercial Avenue in Anacortes without signaling, turned onto Third Street without signaling and sped down O Avenue. The Anacortes police officer caught up with the car and stopped it at 12th Street and O Avenue. The obviously intoxicated man refused voluntary field sobriety tests, and was arrested and taken to the station for a breath test.
