If you have been arrested in Snohomish County for DUI and haven't got a court date, you may be wondering when indeed you'll receive that court date. In some instances you actually will be given a court date by the officer to appear in court within a few days, but other times you won't. The Snohomish County cities will generally have you in court right away and those cities include Everett, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, Edmonds, Marysville, Arlington, Lake Stevens, and Monroe, to list just a few. However, if you have been stopped by a Washington State Trooper or Sheriff you will not have been given a court date. If this is you, expect a wait. The police report is sent by the Trooper/Sheriff to the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney's office where it is reviewed and then ultimately a charge of DUI will be filed in the appropriate court and you'll be sent a summons in the mail. This process typically takes 4-8 weeks, although 6 weeks is average. No doubt this filing system is frustrating and unecessary, but on the up side it does given the person charged ample time to meet with prospective attorneys.
