On September 1st, in Anacortes, Skagit County, a 39-year-old Anacortes man was arrested on a charge of DUI after an officer stopped the car he was driving for speeding on Oakes Avenue around 1:34 a.m. The officer smelled alcohol on the driver, but the driver denied drinking. The man allegedly failed field sobriety tests and a portable breath test showed he was about twice the legal limit. He was taken to the police station for processing and then was cited and released.
